If the signs and symptoms of dehydration continue for more than 24 hours, a doctor should be consulted. Medical care should be sought immediately if any of the following warning signs are present:
  • Severe diarrhea or vomiting
  • Decreased urine or no urine
  • Very ill appearance, listless or fainting
  • High temperature (over 35°C)
  • Severe abdominal cramps
